Picture frames on the personal wall

The frames are from the Metropolitan Museum of Art Open Access programme and are in the public domain. The source record for each individual frame is stored alongside the image files.

Window chrome in the feed themes

Three design systems recreate the window frames, all MIT licensed and self-hosted here, each with its licence text next to it:

The pixel font inside the win 98 and win xp themes is not covered by those MIT licences. It is the FontStruction MS Sans Serif by lou, licensed CC BY-SA 3.0.

Everything around them — the blocks, the theme picker, the taskbars — is written from scratch. The aero theme follows frutiger-aero.org and frutiger-aero.neocities.org; the wall theme uses no framework at all.

Desktop wallpapers in the feed themes

The win 98, win xp and win 7 themes show the original desktop backgrounds of those systems — including the Windows 98 logo and Bliss, photographed by Charles O'Rear. Those belong to Microsoft, not to me. They stand here as pastiche (§ 51a UrhG): the whole section is one long quotation of those interfaces, and the wallpaper is what makes the quotation legible. The aero wallpaper is generated, and wall and simple use no image at all.

Cursor effects

The effects behind the bookmark in the top left corner are cursor-effects v1.0.18 by Tim Holman, MIT licensed and self-hosted here. There is a demo of all of them, and a mirror of it. The bookmark and the list are written from scratch.

Generated images

The aero wallpaper, the museum room behind the picture wall and the placeholder pictures are generated, not photographed. No third-party rights, and no author to credit.

The tab icon

The icon in the browser tab is a still from Rick and Morty, and the heading on the start page quotes the series a second time. It belongs to Adult Swim / Cartoon Network and its creators, not to me. This site is private and makes no money.

Everything else

The photographs of me are mine. The wooden background is a texture in the style of Minecraft. A few pictures on the start page are widely circulated internet memes, used here as pastiche (§ 51a UrhG).
